2008 - Hong Kong and Macau Trip

Finally, i have finally imported my photos from my DSLR camera. As promised, i am planning to write a short review on my 1 week trip to Hong Kong and Macau. To be honestly, Hong Kong island is a nice place for food and shopping. The foods there is superb much better than foods in Malaysia. I will updates some of the pictures taken during my trip.

For shopping spree, I was advised to shop in Hong Kong from July to late September because there are having major SALES. Everything is on sale of course but the main attraction it is much more cheaper than Malaysia Grand Sales.

Anywhere, here are some of the pictures taken during my trip to Hong Kong and Macau. I will do some description is possible

Malaysia delicacy Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak bought during my trip to Hong Kong. The journey took us 31/2 hour to reach HKIA.
To be frank with you this plate of Nasi Lemak sucks and it is expensive. The price is around RM 12 or RM 15 ringgit. I can't really recall as the flight is 7:00 am in the morning.

We arrive Hong Kong International Airport(HKIA) around 11 something in the morning. After exit from the immigration counter we decided to take a express train from Hong Kong International Airport to Kowloon. The single journey ticket only cost HKD 35.
It only took us around 30 minutes - 45 minutes to Kowloon station. After that, we hop onto the MTR train to alight to Yau Ma Tei station where Dorsett Seaview Hotel located. Please exit using Gate C.
From the Yau Ma Tei MTR station it took us less than 10 minutes to reach the front door of Dorsett Seaview Hotel.
My very first impression of this Hotel is not that bad as the building doesn't look so old and dirty. When I enter the lobby, this place is pack with tourists and luggage bags. I can't believe that so many tourists staying at this 3 star hotel.
Finally, we got the key for our room which located at the 7th Floor. The lift is very small. I think it only can occupy 5 person max and it only have 2 lifts to occupy the whole 19th floor.

My first impression, the room is super small. It only allow a single person to walk to the bed. I think the bed is queen size bed and to be honestly the room is very clean and tidy.
The room occupy with a single 14"inch tv with serve only few cable channel. A standard desk lamp and a mini size fridge, a electronic kettle and 2 empty glasses

Just imagine, if the room is small what do you think of the bathroom? Look at the bathtub, isn't the bathtub look cute? It only can fit half of me.
Imagine you are trying to have a nice hot relaxing time on the bathtub can this cute bathtub fit us ? I am wondering where do i put my pair of leg ?
The most important thing is the bathroom is clean

After unpack our luggage we are ready to go for shopping and sight seeing. Due to the bad weather, we decided to stop at Crown Restaurant for lunch nearby the Yau Ma Tei MTR station

This shop is serving tasty food and the portion of food is very big. I love the Teh Ping very much. You guys must try this. The ingredient is totally different with Malaysia. It is much more tasty than those drink server at Mamak stall or Kopitiam.
The Wan Tan noodle look a bit dry but it is tasteful. Anywhere, we are enjoying our lunch and the bill is only HKD63.00 (RM27.00)

Alright, after the lunch we finally decided to head to Mongkok, Ladies Market. The walking distance is only 15 minutes from Nathan Road. Please remember to get the Hong Kong Tourist guide map when you arrive at the airport. It is very useful especially you want to look for interesting places in Hong Kong

This place is full of tourists. It is very similar with Petaling Street in Malaysia or Jatujak Market in Bangkok. There are tones of goods selling here. You can get a lot of "pirated" branded staff. I didn't check the price as i'm not planning to get one here.
Please take note please bargain with them when you see the things that you like. If you are good at it i think you can get cheaper stuff here.
The Ladies Market starts at 12:00 PM till late night. Although, it is late at night there are still plenty of people walking on the street. You will feel much more secure compare with Malaysia. Other than that, there are uncle policeman patrolling there.
Next to the ladies market, is the 'sport shoes market'. Here you can get a lot of sports shoes - Nike, Adidas, Timberland, ..etc etc.
You will be amazes that the whole street is selling sports shoes ONLY with different designs that you will be able to get it in Malaysia.

Hong Kong skyline is spectacular. I think it's impossible for a camera to not fall in love with Hong Kong! The lights are part of the Symphony of Lights which the city of Hong Kong puts on nightly.

I'm Back

I had been busy lately scouting for informations for my trip to Hong Kong. I felt the pain to surf the web to look for hotel price as well as tourist attraction. As this is my budget trip to Hong Kong, I finally manage to look for a affordable place to stay in Hong Kong - Dorsett Seaview Hotel at MongKok area. I read good review about this hotel so without wasting my time i book 6 night stay at this 3 star hotel.
Well is kinda relief that i finally completed one of the task but right now i am having another problem to decide which hotel should i stay in Macau. Sigh .....the hotels room are preety expensive there ...
Anywhere stay tune for more updates and photos when i'm back from my trip.
Take Care, and enjoy reading
Stay tune !!!!! ......

Chilling out at Vintry, Medan Damansara, KL

Since everyone agree to have dinner at Vintry, Damansara we finally decided to make reservation for 10 person.
I'm the earliest one arriving there and surprising it was crowded with people enjoying foods & red wine. When i step inside the shop, the atmosphere is pretty cosy, quiet and i love the decoration and simple renovation although the building is kinda old. There are 2 big shelves on the left & right and it is full of wines.
Anywhere, told the waiter that i had make a reservation under Jason, he quickly bring me upstairs and to be surprised this place is full of "Pretty OL"
Since, i'm still waiting for them to arrive I request for a pine of Tiger Beer, to be honestly i am not a red wine or white wine fans. Maybe because i don't like the sour taste.
Within half an hour, they arrive at the place and without wasting our time we start make our order.
Vintry's menu selections is pretty good and details and their favorites are these snacks "caremelised roast pork", the wonderful sui yok or roast pork, mushroom & etc and of course the red wine.

Mushroom - i think we order 2 plates of mushrooms. One word 'Delicious'

Caremelised roast pork was one of my favorite dishes. The pork is so crispy to bite and it is tender

The 3 Muskateers , according to them 3 different type of huge sausages cut into pieces. The taste not that bad

The Pork Burger or known as Blue ..... forgotten the name on the menu. This is what i order for my dinner. To be honestly, i don't like it at all maybe the cheese was too strong.

Fish and Chip, well nothing to shout about this dishes.

Spare Rib, I didn't get a taste on this because i started to get drunk and high :)

To summary this off, a wonderful place to have dinner with friends & colleagues. This place really serve good foods and the most important the price is reasonable. I think our bill is RM 750.00 for 3 bottles of red wine, 4 bottles of tiger beer & table full with foods

Glory Glory Manchester United

I can't wait Sunday to arrive, I told myself that I will glue myself infront of my TV set no matter what happens.
On the afternoon, there is live telecast Malaysian F1 and i'm expecting Kimi Raikkonen to win the race. Yes, he did !!. He didn't let down the ferrari fans.
I'm glad that McLaren Lewis Hamilton only manage to get fifth place. Sorry McLaren fans.....
Anywhere, after my lovely dinner served by my beloved girlfriend, i took my shower & ready for the showdown between the clashes of the titan between Manchester United & Liverpool.
I was shocked that both managers using diffent strategy..anywhere cut the craps ....the main news is Manchester United trash Liverpool 3-0 because of the Javier Macherano "dumbmest man on the planet" behaviour saw him sent off by Steve Bernett. (Good Job,well done)
